Berry Apple Bars

Ingredients

2 1/2 cups flour

2 teaspoons flour

2 cups old fashioned oat

1 1/2 cups sugar

2 teaspoons baking powder

1 teaspoon cinnamon

1 cup margarine, melted

3 1/4 cups thinly sliced apple (, I use granny smith or other tart apple)

1 (12 ounce) jar jam (your choice)

1/2 cup finely chopped walnut

Directions

Set oven to 375F degrees.

Combine the 2 1/2 cups flour,oats,sugar,baking powder,and cinnamon.

Stir in margarine.

Set aside 1 1/2 cups for topping.

Press remaining into greased 13x9 pan.

Bake for 15 minutes.

Toss apples with 2 T flour.

Stir in the jam.

Spread over hot crust, leaving 1/2 inch at edges.

Combine nuts with reserved oat mixture.

Sprinkle over fruit.

Bake 30 minutes more, until light brown.

Let cool.
